Senator Jim Jeffords (VT) sends a letter of commendation to Saemsori
Washington, DC, 8 September 2006-- Senator Jim Jeffords of Vermont today sent Saemsori a letter of commendation for their efforts on behalf of families separated by the partition of the Korean War.
Senator Jeffords writes:
"The division of Korean families is an ongoing tragedy more than fifty years after the start of the Korean War. Unlike South Korean citizens, Korean Americans have few legal means to contact their families in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and this issue is routinely ignored in the face of political and military conflict between governments. The Saemsori initivate to reconnect families outside of these issues is an innovative effort to address this problem."
